Paranormal Terms

Below are some of the paranormal terms that we use, that maybe you dont understand.

Amorphous - Entity with no shape or forum.

Apparition - An unusual or unexpected sight. This is considered the "Holy Grail" in paranormal research.

Aura - A distinctive atmosphere surrounding a given source.

Cold Spots - An area that is colder than the surrounding area. This is believed to be where spirit, ghost, or paranormal activity occurs.

Electromagnetic Field - Field created by a combination of electric and magnetic energy that emits from radio and light waves to gamma and cosmic rays.

Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) - Disembodied voices and/or sounds caught on audio recording devices

Entity - Something that has seperate and distinct existence and objective or conceptual reality.

Gauss Meter - Device that measures electromagnetic fields.

Ghost - The soul of a dead person believed to be an inhabitant of the unseen world or to appear to the living in bodily likeness.

Haunting - To recur constantly and spontaneously. There are serveral types of hauntings, two commonly investigated types are:

Intelligent - Responds to people/environment.

Residual - Does not respond to environment but "replays" preforms that same act/actions over and over.

Materialization - Visible manifestation of a spirit.

Orb - Round balls of light believed to be spirit forms.

Paranormal - Not scnientifically explained.

Poltergeist - A noisy usually mischievious ghost held to be responsible for unexplained noises.

Spirit - An often malevolent being that is bodiless but can become visible.
